Approve our Presidents Nominations
Senators,
I demand that as our Nations representatives do your duty to protect us as citizens and ensure these nominations are approved.
Democrats in the Senate on the news stated that they intend to delay his nominations, regardless to the impact to American citizens. They stated they want two hearings for each of President-elect Trump's eight cabinet nominees, and for the hearings to be held on separate weeks.
This means we, Americans may have to wait until March before they see a full cabinet much less his needed 700 nominations to manage these areas for President Donald Trump and us citizens.
President Donald Trump is responsible for filling 20 cabinet positions, and 700 other appointments all of which must be confirmed by the Senate. Key positions that critically impact our nations safety and security are what is at risk, this is unacceptable.
Rex Tillerson - Secretary of State
Senator Jeff Sessions - Attorney General
Representative Mick Mulvaney - Director, Office of Management and Budget
Betsy DeVos - Secretary of Education
Steven Mnuchin - Secretary of the Treasury
Representative Tom Price - Secretary of Health and Human Services
Andrew Puzder - Secretary of Labor
General Scott Pruitt - Administrator, Environmental Protection Agency
How does a confirmation delay affect us, the US Citizens....
These unfilled positions are critical to us Americans, some of the duties that will go unfulfilled such as those of the attorney general include:
Represent the United States in legal matters, foreign and domestic
Supervise and direct the administration and operation of the Department of Justice
Give advice and opinions on legal matters to the president, his cabinet and heads of executive departments and government agencies
Recommend federal judicial position appointments to the president - including U.S. attorneys and U.S. marshals
Some of the duties of the secretary of state that will remain uncovered include:
Act as the president's principal adviser on U.S. foreign policy
Conduct negotiations relating to U.S. foreign affairs
Personally participates in or directs U.S. representatives to international conferences, organizations, and agencies
Negotiates, interprets, and terminates treaties and agreements
Ensures the protection of the U.S. government to American citizens, property, and interests in foreign countries
Informs the Congress and American citizens on the conduct of U.S. foreign relations
Between Inauguration Day and a nominee's Senate confirmation, the cabinet position is essentially rendered empty. Ross Baker, a politics professor at Rutgers University, said:
"They can be at their desks, but any official acts before confirmation would be open to legal challenge."
These position left unconfirmed mean an interruption to national and international policies. A dragged-out confirmation process could also delay the implementation of strong, legislation, THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.
President Barack Obama's nominations within two weeks were confirmed, the same support is being denied to President Trump and us citizens. We have the Constitutional and Federal Majority, and we the people need it exercised if our elected officials refuse to be civil. If they are unwilling to be supportive of our President I urge you to move unilaterally and quickly to support President Trump, the people choice.
