I hope you realize the negative impact that will be put on the country, economy, families, and futures of our children this will do. Put America first, we should be number one in your decisions not on a list of issues. I challenge any of you that work in a safe environment everyday in modern America to work in the mountains of Arizona. We made a choice to work in the Patrol but we did so feeling officials such as yourselves supported us. May God bless you and help you make the right decision.REPORT COMMENTS

I am a border patrol wife, and feel this an unjust decision taken by whomever it is. These people making this decision are not out there in extreme climates like desert risking their lives. My husband and many others took this job offer as an opportunity to continue serving his country after being in the military. Thinking this would offer him a secured job, we left our hometown, family, friends, home, everything, so now this agency decides that these agents dont deserve respect, and a good pay....whats going to happen to our mortgage, bills? I, like many mothers cant work because we have little ones to take care of and cant afford babysitting. Please stop this cruelty against our agents, and continue paying them what theyre entitled to, if not more. Please analyse carefully the lives this will affect. The funds are there so why do these greedy bosses believe they deserve more than the agents doing the actual work?REPORT COMMENTS

I do believe our country needs to cut spending. Yet, you don't start the cuts immediately with our nation's defense and security. The government protecting it's citizens is the basic fundamental duty of our government. Start your cuts with the wasteful spending that occurs again and again. For example: $47 million spent in Morocco to research pottery making. One of many examples of wasteful spending. Is pottery in Morocco more important than protecting our borders? As soon as one terrorist gets past our border will have Washington evaluate our priorities again, but then it will be too late.REPORT COMMENTS

These people must not have a clue how a border town like ours will suffer. It survives mostly on BP and military. No one will have any money to spend at the local business and I fear civilians here will also loose there jobs.REPORT COMMENTS

What is congress thinking! Cbp agents work long hard hours to protect this coubtry. To cut pay by 40% is unsat. Do they really think it will be business as usual on the border?REPORT COMMENTS

Another Reason why the people should be training and getting to the border. Remember, the people are the ones who give the government its authority. We cannot rely on someone else to get things done. We need to do the job the federal government cannot and will not do.REPORT COMMENTS
