If a government official is against legislation supporting medical marijuana they won't be getting my vote. This is a very beneficial substance to treat many illnesses and a natural alternative to Big pharmaceutical drugs and their plethora of side effects. I have PTSD, Borderline Personality Disorder, Generalized Anxiety, and Chronic Depression. I have taken a slew of prescribed drugs with very little benefit. I however get great relief from marijuana. Don't assume I am just looking for a high. I am a professional with a respected work history as a health care professional. I am quite aware how this drug acts on the body. As a critical care nurse with 13 years experience, I have never taken care of a patient with any health problems related to marijuana. However, I have taken care of dozens of alcoholics with serious health problems and even death. So how is this substance legal and openly advertised. If you where to read the potential side effects of Alcohol and Marijuana side by side 9/10 people would choose weed. I won't even get started on tobacco use.

I have back pain, insomnia, and a.d.d. It's a natural medicine that that helps multiple symptoms and has multiple uses. I don't want to take drugs made in labs that could kill me. You cannot OD from it and there is no links if deaths from cannabis.

Please help pass SB11 in Kentucky, allowing patients the ability to obtain the medicine that we should have legal access to. Without passing this Bill the state of Kentucky is forcing patients to relocate to other states. States located in the same country, some mere hours away, just in order to be able to gain access to their medicine, thus, causing a loss for revenue for KY and lost hopes for the patients living here. The time has come for Kentucky to step up and allow access to this natural occurring medication and quit with this states obscure outlook on a plant. This state is ridiculous in so many ways, after a long trip to Oregon I have realized the abilities that marijuana has to relieve my symptoms of Barrett's Esophagus (a stomach illness which causes the internal break down of traditional pill medications nearly impossible) and chronic back pain due to two slipped vertebrae, which have pinched off my sciatic nerve causing poor function of my lower extremities and making daily life an absolute chore. While medicating in the magnificent state of Oregon I found a sense of relief. The first time that I have actually felt "good" physically in over 12 years. It's time Kentucky. Please take SB11 seriously and get it passed! If not I know that Kentucky will soon be losing another resident of over 32 years do to the fact that I can not get my medication here legally.
