One has to question what the real criteria to close these dealerships were. Continental Chrysler Jeep a profitable dealer in Countryside, Illinois for 22 years in an updated, beautiful facility was rejected. Jack Phelan Dodge relocates from another part of town on April 1, 2009 in a rented run down facility directly across the street was saved. Could it be that Continental is owned by a women or is it because Jack Phelan is the chairman of the Chicago Automobile trade Association. What ever it is it looks like the fix was in for Jack Phelan. Many of the customers from Continental have already said that they will not buy another Chrysler product unless this wrong is righted. Are the American tax dollars well spent when Chrysler is allowed to make these types of decisions prior to FIAT's emergence into the US market?May 18th, 2009Someone from Darien, IL writes:
Let the dealers losing money close. Unlike what they said not all the dealers on the list were unprofitable. The unfairness is shameful.REPORT COMMENTS

Putting dealers out of business will not make Chrysler a dime more in profits. All this will do is put hard working Americans out of work and cost the consumer more money.REPORT COMMENTS

Please allow dealers to remain in business. We are of no expense to the factory side of the business that wants to close us. We employ dozens of people in many communities that need to keep their jobs.REPORT COMMENTS
