I can't fathom how this will help Chrysler. If anything, it will destroy them.

This action by Chryler is appalling and ill conceived. And will not prove to be beneficial to any of the parties involved.West Virginia's dealerships have been reduced 71%,how does anyone profit by that? This entire debacle gives a sense that Chryler is morally bankrupt.

I suspect the bailout dollars that supposedly cannot (or will not) be traced and disclosed went to fund Chrylser's UNFUNDED union obligations. Now that the union coffers are properly full, private ownership can be swept out the door. The conversion of privately owned industry to government-owned or, in the case of Chrysler UNION-owned/controlled, is unconstitutional. Is there no one in Congress or in the judiciary willing to speak out? That's what the process known as "bankruptcy" is for - orderly liquidation of insolvent business ventures.

This appears to be taking care of one group at the expense of another. Big business should not be allowed to declare bankruptcy and retain the tax payer dollars!!

Essentially what Chrysler has done is made it inconvenient for me to service a Chrysler vehicle. In doing that, they have further encouraged me to not buy American-made vehicles because those dealers are not convenient for service. I purchase the car once, keep it for 10 years or more, and service it hundreds of times. I will choose the brand of my next vehicle based on where the warranty service can be performed most convenient to my home and work. This is not at a Chrysler-branded dealer. Because of their proximity to home and work, this is more likely Toyota, Honda, Mazda or Nissan, all non-American brands. Also, they have just made my ability to negotiate for a lower price with a Chrysler brand easier because I can tell the dealership that if they don't sell a vehicle to me at a lower price than the non-American brands, I will not buy from them and they risk being shut down by Chrysler, which Chrysler has now set a precident doing. They have fallen into the fatal trap in franchise/dealer relations and created competition within the brand, rather than creating competition with other car manufacturers.
