It's about time we stopped all the wasteful prosecution and expense, and focused our attention on REAL criminal activities. In fact, with the deficit in the state treasury, a new source of tax revenue would be welcome.

I don't have this problem but see it all the time. Someone on probation being drug tested, fails due to pot so they start using pills or meth or coke because they all leave your system in 72 hrs or less. So that pot user has now stoped using a perfectly safe drug and progressed to harder ones thanks to our legal system. There a gate way!

i think its about time we caught up to the rest of the world i know it would help the people of southeastern KY a great deal with the coal mines all shutting down, and the government not granting new permits, and the tremendous prescription drug abuse problem we have here granting medicinal cards to people with health problems instead of pills would decrease the availability of pills to the public which would only make the state police's job easier instead of harder and also make our peoples lifes better its common knowledge we grow the best marijuana because our weather and soil are perfect for the plants and with all dispesaries needing a supply we could utilize our abandoned strip and deep mines for green houses and hemp product factories providing much needed jobs in our area and an amazing boost to the commonwealth economy so please pass this bill and save our appalation home thank you.

Legislators, It's a fact that the use of medical marijuana is permissible in many other states. I lived in Colorado for a while and saw the positive impact its use had on citizens who were suffering from autoimmune diseases and anxiety disorders. This is a much better option than painkillers, which are toxic to the human body. This should absolutely be legalized in Kentucky. I'm the daughter of someone who lives with chronic pain stemming from Lupus. I've watched my mother take a variety of painkillers to deal with the pain and she and I are both aware of the long-term negative effects of the opiates she's continually prescribed to manage her pain. This is heartbreaking for me to see. If medical marijuana were legal, she wouldn't be forced to poison her body with toxic prescriptions. Thank you, Tasha Cotter, writer

In 1995 when dianoise with breast cancer my doctor perscribe xanax to deal with my health issue mentally. The xanax made me sleep all the time. Someone suggest I smoke marijuana instead. I did and liked it better. Now I have a varitity of pain. Primary from arthritis. Neck, shoulders, right arm, wrists, thumbs, right fingers, right leg, hips, groin. My medcial records will show through all the dianoses I refused pain pills. I smoked marijuana instead. Recently I was dianose with COPD and was told to stop smoking. I did and started getting a pain RX. One RX and I am back to smoking Marijuana. The pain pills did not do much for the pain but it did make my bathroom habits a nightmare for three days. I take the chance to get in trouble legally. As black market marijuana I never know what actually is in it, (mole, bugs etc). And the price is unreal. Please, please pass the bill for medcial marijuana. I am exposing my self by telling you that when I heard about this synthetic marijuana I started smoking it. I was able to obtain it over the internet. Long story short never never smoke that stuff. My son and daughter had a warrant out to have me committed to Unverisary Hospital mental ward. From my end I blacked out but from my kids end I was crazy. I'm too ashame to tell you exactly what I did but know it is very dangerous and I am living proof this is true.

It's good to see that peoples views are changing and that we are taking a step in the right direction. This is something that will create jobs tax revenue and increase the study of magic medical effects that this medicine has.

I have constant chronic pain in my knees and when i medicate with MJ the pain temporaly goes away and i can live a normal life. legalizing med mj would be a great economy booster for the state of Ky...think of the job opportunities and carreer opps.

Thousands of people in this state need this to help with their daily pain and to improve their lives (especially the medicare population). Don't deny them their right to have a better option than taking 10-20 pills a day for something they could take naturally.
