Chrysler has been in a weakened position since the so-called "merger of equals" with Diamler-Benz. Now the Federal govenment has pushed them over the edge. As one result, hundreds of dealers have been arbitrarily de-franchised with a minimum of notice and a total lack of logic or fairness. In fact, our local dealer (Tarbox Motors) from which we have purchased 5 vehicles is one of the largest Jeep dealers in New England. It has been in business for over 75 years because it sells competitively priced vehicles and provides excellent service. How do you grow the brand by putting successful dealerships out of business? Could it be that Tarbox Motors was singled out as a payback for protesting an earlier attempt by Chrysler to violate the dealership's franchise rights? Quite frankly, we need to get the Federal government out of the automobile business -- three cheers for Ford for not having the government as a partner.May 21st, 2009Someone from Meadville, PA signed.

I have 10 Chrysler vechiles in my fleet, and this is another shot at small bussiness in America. Tarbox is just another unfortunate small business that big goverment is targeting, and myself being a small business owner, am I next. Thanks Pres....REPORT COMMENTS

Unbelievable! Chrysler plans to "give" the Rogers Dodge franchise to the dealership across the road. My last two vehicles were purchased from Rogers and our experience has been excellent. Read their story at www.rogersdodgeofalvin.com What a shame!REPORT COMMENTS

The story around Roger's Dodge Dealership in Texas stirred my American duty to tell "my" American Government to remember the founding father's principles and rights! Roger's Dodge had better NOT go out of business!!REPORT COMMENTS

Nothing about this deal appears ethical. Stop hiding behind bankruptcy laws and treat your dealers fairly. It wasn't to long ago that the factory was begging (forcing) dealers to take inventory. Now that's the same inventory that they refuse to take back from the unfortunate dealers that made the list.REPORT COMMENTS

Tarbox Jeep in North Kingstown, RI should not be forced to shut down because of Chrysler's mistakes. Isn't bailout money supposed to help the dealerships and their customers too? Apparently not.REPORT COMMENTS

Tarbox is the most professional dealership I have dealt with, I purchased my FOURTH Jeep from them; if they stay in business my next car will be another Jeep, if they are closed down I will buy a different brand next time. Please DO NOT CLOSE TARBOX, they represent Jeep in the best way, they do not deserve to be closed down. Keep them open. Nancy Montgomery Owner 2006 Jeep CommanderREPORT COMMENTS

Please stop this as it will only exacerbate the problem for many people who are barely able to feed themselves. In the long run, by putting more Americans out of work, big business will decapitate itself because there will be less people with the wherewithall to purchase big business' product. Guess what? profit down, have to close business. No good across the board for everyone!REPORT COMMENTS
