It makes no sense to me that if Chrysler needs all the sales it can get that they would cancel dealerships.Jun 4th, 2009Someone from Canfield, OH writes:
Why would you close a 5 star elite dealership which is the number one challenger dealer. They sell more parts than anyone in this area. They are located near other dealers yet Chrysler chose to close them. It does not make sense. Jobs need to be created and kept not eliminated. Thousands of people will loose their jobs. I just recently bought my Jeep from Corwin Chrysler Jeep in Hickory, PA. The oldest Jeep dealership in the U.S. This was the finest experience I've ever had buying a new car. What is happening is criminal, the problem with the automakers isn't the dealerships. It's unfair cafe standards, an out of control Union labor force, and mismanagement. The government should not be in the business of managing the auto industry. Protect these dealers.REPORT COMMENTS

My entire family (Father, Husband, Aunts, Uncles and Brother in laws) livelihoods depend on this industry. The closing of dealerships and leaving your loyal workers to clean up your messes and then allowing dealerships down the street to buy the franchise is appalling. Individuals are going to be ruined by this since Chrysler only gave 30 days to close up shop but will not assist by buying back merchandise (cars and parts!). The car industry as a whole needs reforms in management, update their out of date thinking on how to run companies along with how to make efficient cars and stop hiding behind bankruptcy laws and loopholes.REPORT COMMENTS

It's ridiculous to allow the government to come in and take over private companies like this. I am outraged as I sit and watch our beloved country being run by a few people who are not representing the wishes of the many. Please stand out for small businesses and democracy.REPORT COMMENTS

Members of Congress can't efficiently manage our government, so what makes them think they can manage private business? It seems that members of Congress have violated their Oath of Office, which should lead to them being charged with treason! Hey Congress, Stop Killing Our Nation!REPORT COMMENTS

No one but the dealer has the right to decide if he'll continue to do business if he can afford to continue. Chrysler will not get a dime from me if they continue the un-American way of doing businessREPORT COMMENTS

Each state has laws on auto franchises. The bankruptcy court is being used by the auto makers to circumvent the state laws--all at the same time these auto makers are receiving taxpayers aid thru this bailout process. This is a very sad day for the capitalistic society.REPORT COMMENTS

The dealers spend tens of thousands in local taxes, and support the local economy. Perfect example is my local dealer that has 50+ employees who eat in my restaurant, order catering in my restaurant, and recommend us to their customers. This is a HUGE deal to local economies as well as to a family owned dealership. Our prayers are with these folks and we will continue to fight on your behalf. STAND UP AMERICA!!!!REPORT COMMENTS
