there is a need to be more selective when closing down chrysler dealerships. It should be based on performance. Frederick CJD in Boardman Ohio is an example of a top performer that is on the list to be shut down. Maybe shut down the weakest links in the chain first, not the strongest.REPORT COMMENTS

I am not sure the criteria that Chrysler has chosen is fair or legal. I do not think they should be allowed to walk away from some contracts selectivley and to maintain others. As a tax payer I believe I would want my money helping my local dealer in Alvin, Texas. Why can't we help the family owned dealerships maintain their piece of the pie ?REPORT COMMENTS

Is this an example of what government intervention does to our free market? Is this an example of "change" promised by our new government? This is a conspiracy to commit grand theft. The guilty parties are Chrysler and our government. The sad part is pulling the franchises of successful dealerships will help neither Chrysler or our government. Nor will it help the owners or the employees or the local community ecconomy of these successful dealerships.REPORT COMMENTS

I work for a family owned dealership. Over time the entire dealership has become my second home. Everyone I work with I consider a second family member. But after hearing the news it brings tears to my eyes. Being of a younger generation my hopes and dreams are at this company. I have planned everything on me spending a lifetime working for such a great company. But to see the owner of the dealerships who I consider like a father upset about the possibility of loosing not one but to of his franchises... And its not just him it's his entire family that works at the dealership wife, brother, sister, cousin, broother in law, and yes even me and my fellow family members that have been there almost 25, 30, 35 and yes some of them even 40years. What is my future gonna bring if people of my generation loose jobs that we plan on being at for decades? This is wrong and if I were supporting this decision I would feel quite embarassed for making a big mistake. How do you take someone's lively hood away like a mechanic that has trained all his life and career to repair these vehicle's and not give him something in return or a chance to keep what he has. This is like stealing from the poor and giving to the rich. And to think you take our franchises and give us nothing... so where does all that federal aid go to...?REPORT COMMENTS

It seems that we have reached the point in this country where everyone is willing to sell out someone else for the sake of profit. It has to stop somewhere, and this is a great place to start.REPORT COMMENTS

Chrysler is using the bankruptcy to take away a franchise from a long standing dealer and give it to another several miles away! They are just robbing one dealer to help another. I could understand if they had too many dealers in the area, but that is not the case. This is just wrong and nothing but robbery on Chrysler's part.REPORT COMMENTS
