Dealerships Like Corwin Jeep, in Hickory Washington County PA, are very much needed. They have provided sales and service to a rural community for over 50 years. They are profitable and have a loyal customer base. I can not imagine waking up one morning and finding out that my place of work is being shut down not because of a slip in sales or the business was no longer profitable, but instead because it just was not big enough and not in a desirable location. This is exactly what Chrysler is doing to Corwin Jeep. I find that to be a slap in the face to not only Corwin and their dedicated sales team, but also a slep in the face to my entire community. We are not big enough to have a dealership here, but we are just big enough to pay taxes that helped fund the bail out of Chrysler and GM. Once again big business and the US Government pay lip service to the rural america, but when push comes to shove they are no where to be found. Lets close a dealership that is profitable and employs 15 individuals because we don't care for the town they are in. I know this community is small one, but the Chrysler penetration is extremely high. With the potential growth this are has over the next 5 to 10 years Chrysler is being very short sided in this move.REPORT COMMENTS

How does shutting down dealerships of American made cars help our economy when we've been trying for years to get people to buy American?? We should be helping them succeed, not deprive them of work. Unemployment is already way too high, we don't need to make it worse.REPORT COMMENTS

It is easy to dodge the bullet when you are holding the gun: The middle class is taking the hit for all the economic and emotional upheaval this country is presently experiencing. Profitable long term Dealerships should not the closed! I agree with all of the above statement. This will hurt local employee's families and the local economies greatly. The tax money for the bailout was the citizens of the USA. If you close a Chysler Dealership then the ownership should as least be paid for all inventories (Cars, trucks, Jeep, and parts inventories, etc.)and buy the Franchise back from the owners, shareholders, and partners for the original cost to the Dealership plus storage and any interest that was accrued.REPORT COMMENTS
