As a Chrysler driver since 1960 and a person who learned to drive in a WWII Jeep, I can tell you that this is sending the wrong message to the buying public. If Chrysler will treat it's dealers (customers) in this manner, how will they treat car buyers???

The notion that less dealers will cost Chrysler less is not based in sound business practice. Simply put...more dealers and locations will promote competition and lower consumer prices. Less dealers will mean higher prices to the consumer and less revenue to Chrysler because volume will decline. DUH!!!!!

Rogers Dodge has the best customer service that I have ever experienced. Wonderful people. Please keep honest dealerships in business, otherwise, you only pave the way for foreign competitors to take over.

I am disappointed that we have allowed this to happen in the U.S. The American Dream has become a nightmare!

Chrysler begged these dealers to take on more vehicles than theyn wanted and now Chrysler wants to give them 3 weeks! Is it any wonder domestic terrorism is on the rise? Nice work Obama.

Gentlemen: I live in rural Washington County, Pennsylvania. Our local Chrysler dealerships, Corwin in Hickory, Pa; New City Auto in Weirton, WV and LaPosta, Weirton, WV are to be closed. These are the closed Chrysler dealerships in this small rural area. You must keep them open. We do not want to be forced to deal with large, obnoxious dealerships 20-30 miles away. The giant car dealers do not know your name, will not remember your name once you leave their business and truly do not care about you. But, all these local business do know their customers and want to keep those customers. They go out of their way to help you purchase and maintain our vehicles. Do you think a large dealer will come to work place and pick up your vehicle, take to the garage, service it and then bring it back with no charges. I don't hardly think so. But these local dealers do such things. Please rethink and help us, keep our local dealerships.

Excellent service at the Tarbox in N. Kingstown, bought my Jeep there as a used vehicle in 2002. Everywhere one drives in the kent County area and beyond, you can virtually count one seeing numerous Jeeps with the TARBOX logo on them. That tells me that they must be doing something right if that many are on the road, so closing this dealership would be a foolish mistake on Chryslers part. Mr. Tarbox, I doubt our 4 Washington reps will be much help, especially Shelly, since he's seems to be obssessed with the supposed torture allegations. Good luck in your endeavor, you deserve a better deal than Chrysler seemes to want to give you. Bill Iannotti

I think it is unconscionable that way Chrysler is treating the dealers. The money that was given (or lent) to Chrysler by the government came from the taxpayers. At least some of this should go to the dealers who are being put out of business. Why should they be left holding the bag -- millions of dollars of unsold vehicles -- mortgages on their buildings (many of which Chrysler insisted be updated or renovated at great cost. The cost of buying out the franchises and buying back the stock would be a drop in the bucket compared to the billions Chryslet received as bailout. I was in favor of the bailout because I think businesses have to be healthy to sustain our economy but it just seems wrong that a group of ordinary people have to lose not only their businesses but also their savings, homes, etc. There must be a better way to do this!!
