shutting Sam NAy Waco dodge inc down in a market the size of waco is a horrible mistake. Especially since Chrysler and Jeep were shut down as well. To think in a population of over 250000 people to have no represenation is just plain stupid.May 22nd, 2009Someone from Montgomery, MI signed.

Keep Tarbox Motors open in RI and MA. Where else am I going to take my Jeep that has a hood that flutters in the wind, a radio that has a mind of its own and a roof that leaks? Yes Chrysler, you need to start making cars that Americans are proud to own- in the meantime, keep dealerships like Tarbox open that at least listen to my concerns and make an effort to fix design problems and equipment malfunctions rather than give me the "we can't replicate the problem".REPORT COMMENTS

Support the dealers, when the government comea to pick your pocket or legislatively mug you, you will see things differently. Know your Constitution; the President and Congress has leveled a Bill of Attainder against the dealerships. They have voided a standing contract without compensation or trial and did so by a legislative act. Ex post facto (Latin for ?After the Fact?) laws are likewise prohibited. They have no right to change legal contracts after the fact. The Constitution express prohibits both such acts. Bill of Attainder Definition: A legislative act that singles out an individual or group for punishment without a trial. The Constitution of the United States, Article I, Section 9, paragraph 3 provides that: "No Bill of Attainder or ex post facto Law will be passed." "The Bill of Attainder Clause was intended not as a narrow, technical (and therefore soon to be outmoded) prohibition, but rather as an implementation of the separation of powers, a general safeguard against legislative exercise of the judicial function or more simply - trial by legislature." U.S. v. Brown, 381 U.S. 437, 440 (1965). "These clauses of the Constitution are not of the broad, general nature of the Due Process Clause, but refer to rather precise legal terms which had a meaning under English law at the time the Constitution was adopted. A bill of attainder was a legislative act that singled out one or more persons and imposed punishment on them, without benefit of trial. Such actions were regarded as odious by the framers of the Constitution because it was the traditional role of a court, judging an individual case, to impose punishment." William H. Rehnquist, The Supreme Court, page 166. "Bills of attainder, ex post facto laws, and laws impairing the obligations of contracts, are contrary to the first principles of the social compact, and to every principle of sound legislation. ... The sober people of America are weary of the fluctuating policy which has directed the public councils. They have seen with regret and indignation that sudden changes and legislative interferences, in cases affecting personal rights, become jobs in the hands of enterprising and influential speculators, and snares to the more-industrious and less-informed part of the community." James Madison, Federalist Number 44, 1788.REPORT COMMENTS

Don't think it's fair for the government to shut down family owned businesses that are landmarks in our communities. They should be permitted to stay in business until THEY choose to shut down their dealerships. Thank You, JudyREPORT COMMENTS

We need to help the autodealers......do not terminate the dealers...this only adds to the trickle down recession. We will be watching to see how you vote....and when your time comes up for re-election your vote will determine ours.REPORT COMMENTS

These companies are hiding behind their "Constitutional" rights. However, when your "rights" step all over someone else's, they are no longer protected under our Constitution.REPORT COMMENTS

I have done business with Old Colony ChryslerDodge in Mansfield and keep coming back to Tarbox. Their service department is the best and I just purchased a jeep for my son at Tarbox North Kingstown last August. I recommend that the Tarbox Dealerships stay since they know how to treat their customers!REPORT COMMENTS

The weak dealers will go out of business on their own. There were several very good dealers that closed in my area. No reason for that.REPORT COMMENTS
