I feel doubtful about Chrysler's criteria for determining which dealerships to close and which to leave open. For years, Krebs Chrysler-Jeep in Pittsburgh has provided excellent service and repairs to the Jeep that transports my daughter all over the country for work, tournaments, and school. I have relied on them to keep her safe. If Krebs is closed, I will be forced to go to the only remaining dealership near us, where my experiences have been much less positive.

Closing these dealerships is going to send more jobs overseas because more will buy foreign cars that will be supported after the sale

I think the process of elimination was political influence because they (chrysler) is going to give those stores or points to larger dealers. The reason for the bankruptcy is to down size the overpopulated amount of dealers they had agreements with not too long ago they added 5 more dealers here in the San Antonio area now they are eliminating 1 store which they are planning to give that deleted point to another store. If the purpose is to down size the amount of stores they have put in this city then the process of elimination should be last man hired, first one fired or, the statement of we are closing stores that are not profitable or don't sell many vehicles should be the ones that are closed not stores that sell lots of vehicles or have a large customer base or show profit. Lets face it they never looked at #'s, or customer satisfaction scores, or if the dealer sold the volume they wanted. They just closed the stores they wanted too. I myself am a small business man I talk to every customer I work on every vehicle I'am a one man show, I do all the aftermarket accessories for Ford, Dodge, and Chevy dealers in town that elect to do business with me, one thing I know about business is you dont cut off your best earners if you have a customer that always brings their vehicles to you, you work on them first you take care of them before anyone else. Chrysler isn't taking care of some of the best and long standing dealers they have had in the goodtimes and the bad. The dealers have hung in and held on during the trouble times they didn't bail out on Chrysler, so why is Chrysler bailing out on them. Look at the #'s see who isn't pulling their weight and fighting to put vehicles on the street and eliminate those stores and not offer the point to someone else that would be defeating the purpose of down sizing..... Keep your best earners, best dealers, the ones who hung in and struggled to stay open in hard times.

Would someone please publish the criteria that Chrysler used to determine whose lives to ruin so that we can make sense of it. we are (were) a top 100 dealer in all categories set forth by Chrysler and have been for most of the 25 years that I have been employed at this dealership. Why were dealers who are on the brink of bankruptcy saved. I think they purposely saved some of the struggling dealers knowing that they would not make it in the short run after the other closings. this way Chrysler is only on the hook for the nearly 800 dealers and 40,000 employees of INDEPENDENT BUSINESSES that they put on the unemployment line. a lot of these saved dealers will be following suit soon, after Chrysler forces them to do whatever they want because of the thrown out franchise agreements. thay were already struggling and once they are forced to add inventory they will not have the financial backing to keep open. (CONSPIRACY THEORY?) I THINK NOT. While I am ranting here. Does anybody care about the service and maintenance of these Chrysler cars? I haven't heard any report on what the closings are going to do to the people that rely on their favorite dealerships to take care of them. they are now going to be forced to go to low CSI dealers which will in turn force your loyal customers to dump the product because they can't get good service. Chrysler and our ever helpful government should let the free enterprise system work as it should. those that were struggling would have fallen anyway. I still don't know how closing all these dealers and losing visibilty is a good market strategy, but then again I don't make the millions that the brilliant leaders of Chrysler who got us in this mess make. Actually I can't blame the auto companies stupidity on them alone. the banks failing was a major contributor to the lack of car sales. when they were bailed out they were not forced to loan the money that was given to them so it was extremely hard to get a loan. Governor Granholm needs to get her nose out of Obama's back side so she can see that we are being forced to close viable and profitable INDEPENDENT BUSINESSES for no reason. we do not cost Chrysler one RED cent to operate this dealership so how are we even involved in this Bankruptcy. we are an INDEPENDENT BUSINESS. Chrysler has just fired it's best customers and will likely lose more market share because of it. If that's the way they treat loyal customers what is the average consumer going to think about loyalty to or commitment to them? Maybe Jenny has a grand plan to get on the Supreme Court so she can overturn this illegal act against her constituents and many others across the Country. I hope all the southern states are waking up now that what happens in Detroit is having an affect on them too. welcome to the party. Just a side note to all the Hollywood liberals who spout off about how we should just let the auto companies die because of their lack of caring about the environment. do you not see the hypocrisy in driving your Prius to the airport to board your private planes to go all over spouting you environmental views. SHUT YOUR HOLES. sorry for jumping around about all these issues but I am one of the unfortunate people whose job was just terminated by their Government. I never thought I would see the day when my own Government state and federal would conspire to put viable profitable INDEPENDENT BUSINESSES out of business causing the loss of 40,000 or more jobs. thanks for letting me vent. I hope the Congress can see that this unprecedented butchery of the free enterprise system should not be allowed to stand. IF we are going to be involved in this bankruptcy it should be as an asset since they have no investment in our INDEPENDENT BUSINESS, where as we have huge investment in them and are a profit center to them. since when is severing a profit center a good move to keep a corporation going forward out of bankruptcy. did I mention that these were INDEPENDENT BUSINESSES

I have done business with a number of auto dealerships over the years and Tarbox Motors of North Kingstown, RI is by far the very best! Our family has bought and still own four jeeps from Tarbox Motors. If the closing of dealerships is not stopped, Chrysler will be the last auto purchase choice by my family and I am sure of many others.

Tarbox Motors has served members of our family for generations and continues to do so with fairness. Be fair to their family.

This is ridiculous!! You are putting thousands of people into bankruptcy because of a company who was managed poorly by a few people! Completely unfair...please stop.

We have been with tarbox and this dealership for more than 10 years. It would be a real lost to this area to close such a professional, caring, dealership with the best service center around.

Please stop the destruction of people's lives that are being churned up by bailout of the events of big business, banking, insurance idiocy. Chrysler is using the bailout to reposition itself without regard to the franchise owners.

Here are dealers who have put their mind body and soul into their dealerships, and for what? They have no control over this outcome. They deserve more than this.
