Small town dealerships are the backbone of the community and this country. Nothing like home town service. Will not buy another Chrysler/Dodge product, if this is an indication of the way Chrysler conducts business with their dealerships.

This will only further destroy the US car industry by limiting opportunities for people to buy and service American cars!

Closing the dealership in Abilene, TX. is a mistake. There is no other Chrysler/Jeep dealer in the area, & this will drive buyers to other makes that have dealerships in the area, most of them foreign. I fail to see how this can help Chrysler, the US government, or the local economy. My last 8 vehicles have been Chrysler products, but I cannot afford to take the time from my work it would take to drive to the next closest Chrysler/Jeep dealership. Since I detest the new Fords, & have not found anything I like from GM, I guess my only option now is to buy foreign. I cannot see how this is legal or moral for Chrysler to break the contract they have with their dealers & force them to shoulder this ruinous burden. I am sure bankruptcy will be the inevitable result for many, due, not to mistakes of their own, but the mistakes of others. Washington needs to wakeup, & correct this now!

refuses to buy back the parts and vehicle inventories from the terminated dealers leaving them holding millions in worthless vehicles and parts This is both unprecedented and criminal and Chrysler should not be able to hide behind the umbrella of bankruptcy.

Chrysler should buy back the inventory that they guilted dealers into buying over the last few months "to save the company," so they could get more government "bailout" money. They should also be forced to buy the terminated dealers from the dealers.

Any way Chrysler tries to "spin" this, it isn't right. All of these dealers bought their inventory from Chrysler and now Chrysler won't even consider buying it back and Chrysler tells them that there isn't any recourse...if you're on the closing list, you're CLOSED!

It is unbelievable that the US Treasury committee and Chrysler have devised such an unjust plan for it's citizens. Nowhere on this planet is it right to take someone?s business (rightful property) and turn around and then give it away to someone else down the road! We (Americans) are on a new frontier in history here with the US govt. attempting to hand these dealers their walking papers. This CAN"T happen to this dealer in our state or elsewhere. It is an outrage! If individual states stands for this more businesses will forced to do the same at the hand of the US government. Gov. Carcieri has the integrity to let the White House know that even though we are the smallest state in the country we know right from wrong. All of these dealers have had their rights striped from them and I trust that all the other states will support their people and uphold the constitution.
