I hope H4s are not given EAD. Now with this rule, all these housewives with 10 years of cooking experience will convert it to 10 years of coding experience ....Wow...Genuine people are going to suffer big time because market will be flooded with fake profiles with low billing rates causing genuine candidates with high billing rates to be rejected even before interview for someone who showed fake experience and willing to work for pennies/very low rate. So, I have worked in the capacity of hiring manager and I am able to spot fake resumes ( generally willing to work for a very low billing rate )..I normally discard these resumes but believe me there are lot of hiring managers who give preference to candidates with low billing rate. This is going to give a lot of Indian IT Vendors to market fake resumes with less billing rates. This will be a problem, when an experienced person, will not given an interview slot due to billing rate ( this is a 100% true FACT with all companies, to cut cost). Don't Pass H4 EAD.REPORT COMMENTS

Sorry for the errors in last two posts. This one is corrected - I was working till October 2014 on F1 OPT EAD to keep my EAD current. I was not able to travel to India for 2 years after graduation because my H1B was not selected two years in a row in the lottery for STEM students. I volunteered till i got a full time job. My job was not through any consultant. I interviewed and got a job using my US based STEM degree but my luck was not on my side for H1B lottery. My husband is paying taxes for 5 years and also paid my tuition during school. I did all the right things. Now this rule being in effect has given me great hopes for my future again. This was owed to us for several years now. Its already late for many because of long gap in work experience. Dear F1/OPT, H1Bs, L1/L2, GCs and citizens independents/hardworkers/achievers. Please don't call us h4 dependents/housewives. We have been professionals and good ones at that in the recent past. You almost make it sound derogatory to be on H4 and shame on you for that. We are asking for our right and after this long we deserve it without reservations or extra scrutiny on our backgrounds. Enough has been already taken away to make this complicated again. I have been on both sides and trust me it takes equal effort to be on the right side of the law. If extra scrutiny should be imposed then, F1/OPT should be investigated first and foremost for using desi consultants for H1Bs even after their "hard-earned STEM degrees". People coming from India directly and changing employers should not be allowed to do so - they dont have American STEM degrees, now do they? I dont even want to mention L1/L2 - they misuse every aspect that American life provides (misuse of return policies in stores); they definitely take the most advantage out of all visas and without STEM degrees. I have enough facts against them but thats not what everyone wants to talk about. This should be across the board if at all on one visa category. It is totally dependent on the person how they treat the law no matter what your situation is be it F1,H4, H1B and GC or American citizen. Many like me stuck to the right way of doing it and will always do it the right way - genuine work and dedication. And we are in the majority for sure. After all thats the real American spirit and thats what makes many people still come to this great country. American citizens - you guys only complain somebody will take ur jobs. Then go get an education, gain meaningful skills; get interviewed and find jobs. Nobody ever stopped you. You always had right to work and do whatever. Be competitive. If someone offers you less salary, work hard and jump to another company. They will always pay you higher at the next job. None of my immigrant counterparts are underpaid; infact much highly paid than their American peers sometimes - that is just propaganda by anti-immigration groups. If you have good skills- you will get paid. Good companies these days are notREPORT COMMENTS

Why do you people keep crying when something good happens. Even as of today there a bunch of F1's who put fake resumes with 8 to 10 years and get jobs, and are killing the wage rate by working at low wages that that is required for that posistion, just to enter and stay in the job market. Upon that when they are on F1 they work in Gas stations, grocery stores, Hotels etc... which is violation of the F1 visa. What about them? The intent of this law is to remove H4's from their jailed kitchen and home lives and give them a chance to breathe. They can work in any stream, not only IT. And you people a cribbing about this. Shame on you. If you are really concerned about competition and jobs, then you have be concerned about the following people adding to the job market every year. 1) 20,000 F1's Coming into the US job market every year 2) 65,000 Diversity Visa folks coming into the job market every year 3) 65,000 H1B's coming into the job market every year.REPORT COMMENTS

Its unfair not to give H4 EAD. However, the point here is fair that companies should not be allowed to hire employees if there are applicants who are Graduates of American Universities in related field. IT companies making fake resumes and sitting for interview by false candidate is 100 percent right. It should be stopped. Both firms and candidates should be expelled from the country for fraud so that honesty wins. It encourages people to be honest, lawful, and going to school. I always wonder why american companies not hiring american universities graduates first in the reason of lack of experience. Who will have work experience when graduating from school? They will catch up everything in few weeks or months. Instead they hire fake candidates with few weeks so called IT training. -----God save and bless America !!!REPORT COMMENTS

The people who want a job should be able to find an employer willing to file their h1b. Like all other skilled immigrants. It is unfair that they can work anywhere just because their spouses have i-140 approved. If they have skills that america needs, jobs are everywhere. If this law continues then there will be lot of job loss for skilled americans which will make the dominoes fall in favor of india and china.REPORT COMMENTS

Please do not stop H4 EAD. There are many who do not see progress and as long as someone is worse off then them they are happy. They claim that H4 visa holders will take away jobs from Citizens and Permanent residents but forget the change in their lives when they became permanent residents and eventually citizens. Why focus on H4 EAD when thousands others on various other categories have the ability to work legally. Selfish people only think of themselves and do not look at the big picture. It is only the Newbee IT Indians who resent this rule. Majority of them are on this post. They do not realize that there are thousands of H4 holders who are stuck in limbo waiting for a green card number anywhere between 10-20 years. It's time they see some light in this dark tunnel. Please do not listen to these selfish people.REPORT COMMENTS

Why are you people on this site targeting spouses on H4 visas. Do you realize the emotional pain that they have been through with no way of legally working and contributing financially? For years they have silently borne the burnt of staying at home and are financially dependent on their spouses. While some have for years done voluntary community service without any form of reimbursement. They are humans just as much as you are. Do not imply that they are fraudsters. If they were they would not be do desperate to legally work. The fraudulent claim that they have jobs is NOT true. People like you who signed this disgraceful letter cause a rat race in society. What about the thousands of refugees and asylum seekers who come here and receive all benefits from free housing to medical to free college for their children and work permits. And the cherry on the top is that they get their green cards the fastest. Spouses of H4 visas have stood with dignity and managed with whatever was possible. Not all H4 spouses want IT jobs. They too have dreams and visions of doing better in life. Their children too have to go to college. Don't forget they do not have a free ride nor are they stretching their arms out with a begging bowl. Most of you opposing the H4 visas have a dog in the manger attitude...if I can't have it then no one else can. Remember karma. Live and let live. A happy family is a happy community in turn a happy country! Flag CommentREPORT COMMENTS

This creates a discriminatory situation as well. We have skilled labor force graduating from American universities seeking to enter the job market based on their valid STEM degrees acquired right here in the USA being subjected to a casino type lottery system by USCIS for the last three years (H1B lottery) forcing F1 students here legally to find desperate ways to stay in the country and fend for themselves. On the other hand a completely unverified individual who came on a dependent visa is being provided unfettered access to the job market. If there are any lawyers reading this I would welcome their legal opinion.REPORT COMMENTS

On what basis is getting a job for yourself becomes a crime in the country that fights against discrimination??? Not giving the right and freedom to work is a discrimination. Because you dnt get the freedom to earn nor to spend in the economy. If people are so afraid of competition then they should also be afraid of globalization. People should not think of H4' s whoes spouses pay high tax to the govt. Infact people should think Y till dat everything is being imported from China???Y doesn't u people work and try hard instead of pulling others legs. If u feel there will be competition then create the labor force in USA. and that can be done only if USA employs more within the country. It is better to have resources in US. than to offshore the jobs . THIS RULE SHOULD BE PASSED to LET THE H4's work for USA. Generate new labor force. What about L2 EAD ???? even they have the eligibility to work. U people are crazy to target on one topic..instead put your hard work and attitude to work better .REPORT COMMENTS
