I agree H4 EAD SHOULD be revoked ASAP. I am not sure who inroduced H4 EAD. Honestly H4 EAD is a bad option, this option is huting American jobs. And also because H4 EAD many H1B holders are unable to find jobs Bottom line H4 EAD should be revoked -

If the reason for abolishing H4 EAD is cited as fraud by consultancies in few cases, it is funny because a lot more H1Bs are abused by same consultancies. So abolish H1B as well? Strict background checking should be done for all. As far as concerns of spouses not having STEM or any other degree in US, well EADs are only given to spouses with an approved I 140 which means that had there not been a backlog, they would have had the GC like people from other countries. I do not understand the opposition if it is not spitting venom. Instead we should look at how we all can come together as a community.REPORT COMMENTS

I completely AGREE with the post. I am an immigrant who went to school in the US to pursue masters, followed the system to obtain H1B visa, applied for Green Card but dont have an EAD even after 15 years of living in this country. It is unfortunate that many less qualified people will now be able to get EAD and work without any visa limitations. This is unfair to a lot of us!!!REPORT COMMENTS

Totally disagree with this petition. I oppose this and I think the H4 EAD rule is giving the equality and freedom of choice which is the sole foundation of US constitution. We are not illegal, we are not criminals then why bound us by restriction to freely work and contribute to the US economy. Jobs should be given merely based on talent. Encourage Americans to compete in a healthy way. Immigrants are just helping this country and the reason it is great today is due to fellow immigrants.REPORT COMMENTS

America was found on the principle of diversity. Most of the people in U.S. are immigrants over the last 400 years. Immigration policies should help to unite families and make them prosper. Petitions like these would only downgrade the founding principles of the country and divide the people. If a qualified person is made to sit at home because of the visa status of their spouse and if they are not allowed to have privileges like driver license, it would not be healthy for their relationship as well as the society. Jobs should be given based on skills, experience and potential, but not based on visa status, religion, race, color, gender. Keep in mind that these people pay their share of taxes fairly unlike the businessman who does not want to disclose his tax records, but want to make America great again. Please realize that America is already great because of it's ability to embrace people of different origins.REPORT COMMENTS

Does not make sense at all. This is like bombing a whole country just to eliminate a certain percentage of wrong doers. Such rules are only making the rule abiding immigrants more frustrated and forcing them to take wrong path. Definitely do a complete background check as done for any job vacancy. This will automatically filter the bad/false profiles. But the reasoning that misuse by few is leading to complete withdrawal of H4 EAD working option is irrational and biased.REPORT COMMENTS

I am on H4 and currently a Grad student. I don't disagree that people misuse EAD option in many ways. But I am sure there are equally good number of eligible candidates here unable to work because they do not take these shortcuts & wrong path. This is effecting current job market as people who never worked started getting jobs by recommendations and references . The debate is that the even h4 EAD have experience and they are not allowed to work , I Agree .. if that is the case they have to apply for h1b as every one does and follow the same process and rules . I agree with the fact that many H4 EAD holders are faking their resumes and marketing themselves as 8-10 years of experience but there is the fault of companies who are interviewing over the phone only.There should be face to face interviews.If the person is really capable they should hire them.Work should be based on skill set and ability, not on the basis of citizenship.There should be fair competition.I am an H4 EAD holder and have 3.5 years of experience in my country.It took almost 1 year to me to land a job offer.In the Tech world competition, there is very high competition It is hard for H4 EAD holders as well to get a job.I interviewed almost in 15 companies in a year then got the job.Companies have full authority to hire talent, It should not be based on citizenship.If you have talent you should get the job and help US economy to grow.REPORT COMMENTS

H4 EAD should be withdrawn as most of the Citizens and Green card holders are loosing the jobs as companies/vendors are hiring H4EAD as they can be paid low wages. H4 EAD's are floating fake resumes in the market. Every year more than 1 lakh students are coming with fake education for the worst universities to study Masters and this is also creating so much of unemployment in USA. The unemployment figures shows that only 5% unemployment. This figure is a manipulated figure. I converted to H4 EAD after completing 6 years on H1. I have 10+ years of IT experience coming from STEM background. Not passing a rule is not a solution. Rather more stringent laws should be enforced to identify talented resources, to approve EADs, to prevent fake resumes. My first point is why are companies so stupid to hire people without a proper face to face interview. I do agree that a lot of Asians fake their resume. My Job was replaced by Outsource Company, my unemployment was ended in six months not even a year, used to apply approx. 50+ Companies per week and still no luck. Went thru almost depressions because not able to work for Very low rates were I used to make $ 18 yrs. ago, went from top to down on rates/work, no choice, where I used to manage people to do those type of task and now I was doing it. All unemployment figures are not correct because they don't keep track after six months weather that person got the job or not? OR how long it takes before one is getting back in the Job market. To those H1 spouses who feel so sad about their spouses sitting home idle, why don't you apply for their H1. You have to keep trying and keep trying real hard and that's how H1s got their visa. It was not a jolly ride for them. Govt. should increase H1B quota and allow qualified individuals with H1 to convert to H4 EAD but not the others. Agreed lot of people with fake resumes get here on H1 but they invested in obtaining a degree and they value it. People who do not have enough knowledge on H4 EAD rule just want to stop it because from somewhere they heard its affecting their jobs. That is not true. H4 visa holders have studied abroad and came to US with their spouse.
