Do you really think that all H1 are genuine. Experiences are faked by everyone here..be it a citizen, H1b holder, L1, L2 and who not. So why only H4 EAD are being the soft Target. Please get your facts correct. Not all the H4 EAD holders are faking experience. Why a genuine person on H4 EAD who is equally participating in the US economy growth should suffer because of some people who fake experience. Also why only H4 EAD is being target when there are big fishes in the market. You should look into the fake contracting companies who first file H1 B and then fake experience to get jobs. There are better ways to improve the economy than blaming on H4 EADs. Please dont revoke it. -

H4 EAD is introduced for encouraging the highly skilled professionals who don't have valid visa to start small business. So that they can contribute their skills to the economy growth for United States. But it is being misused by the Asians. I also seen so many asians who work in Macy's, kohls, IKEA... I am an Asian, so many of my friends they don't have 1 day experience in IT industry, they put fake resumes of experience about 8 to 10 years and got offers with referrals in leading IT companies. And they both husband and wife getting around 11k per month. H4 EAD rules must change and it should be strictly for who is going to starting small scale business. This is my opinion. Thanks. I saw so many immigrant managers getting their wife's to client work place without interview as they know people and they call it as referral. Do not think about your family and your wife always , just think about their country too, if their country is doing well then only you can stay here with your wife and family .. do't be selfish and always think about your family your wife your double pay checks .. Just crying and getting depressed sitting at home should not qualify one for EAD. Even after so many years of sitting at home , the H4 spouses are not capable of competing for an H1b tells a lot for their qualification. H1Bs on the other hand have to undergo strict educational , professional background checks as well as work within a strict minimum wage criteria. First - H4 EAD is not given to all H4 visa holders. They are given to people who are on the path to become permanent resident. There is no point keeping someone in this country and not letting them work while they have their skill sets. Ultimately after we receive permanent residency we will be allowed to work and by that time we might lose our skills and be a burden to the society Secondly there are so many people on H4 EAD who have added to the jobs by starting their own business. I understand the resistance from people who point their fingers at resume fakers. H4 beneficiaries who are dependents of H1B visa holders only get qualified if H1B visa holders have started process to become permanent residents and/or are in US for more than 6 years. As result of that only limited number of H4 visa holders get qualified of H4 EAD each year. The wait to become permanent residents in US can be as much as 10- 15 years for some countries whereas for some counties the wait is only for 1-5 years. Hence H4 EAD rule is a fair rule especially for dependent H4 visa holders. The call for protecting american workers by not granting H4EAD is rhetorical at best. By the same arguments, one could argue that to protect american workers remove all types of work visas including H1, L1, B1 etc. I would say that these work visa system should be reformed to protect american workers. Eliminating these work visas altogether will harm US interest significantly. Heart of the matter is these work visas and programs like H4EAD should be fair towards first american workers but as well as towards H1 and H4 visa holders. We are prisoners in the name of H4's. Sitting in home sacrificing our life in fact no life for us we are not taking anyone job's. So y so worries and so much hate on us. Our spouses are on h1's and doing job that means we are not rich. In fact many immigrated families living under poverty. We are not in a position to get treatment if we ill, we don't wear good clothes neither our kids, we can't buy enough groceries. If we do give little financial support that is the bigggest thing for us. We can make our kids to get education etc. we can contribute for this country development. You can start local manufacture companies instead of importing from china in that way lots of people can be placed. There are many ways to develop the country and secure the people and save the jobs.EAD's are small ratio people and don't kill us mentally with revoking EAD's. EAD is the only light of our dark life. I fully support H4 EAD rule. why should it be removed when H4 spouses are equally qualified and are smart enough to get a job on there qualification. They are not only making the community and surrounding a better place but also supporting the US economy and are contributing towards the American society. It would be very shameful if it is ever removed or revoked just because some people think it should be. Everyone is a immigrant in this country even the people who call themselves American. Just because they have been staying here for generations and few immigrants have come in past 10-20yrs, that's not a fair deal at all. If Mr. President really wants to make "America Great Again" lets all work together towards it and not by leaving some behind. Granting H4 EAD to dependent spouses is unfair to American citizens and permanent residents. I understand how H-1B and the dependent H4 EAD works. Any dependent spouse on H4 EAD could take a job from an American citizen or permanent resident by working for low pay. The primary H-1B spouse already has a good paying job and this allows the dependent spouse on H4 to get another job without any qualms. H4 EAD has been very helpful for spouses who have a STEM degree and are unable to work while their spouses are still waiting for a Green Card approval. If need be, H4 EAD approval needs to be regularized rather than a complete removal. There are ways of detecting fake resumes. Like, verifying the W2 for the number of years of experience mentioned in the resume, which the people with fake resumes will obviously not be able to produce. It requires effort on the company who is supplying the resumes to the client, failing which the company should be penalized severely. If the concern is that every jack is making use of H4 EAD and are replacing American workers, there could be rules imposed by making only those spouses who have a STEM degree eligible to apply. Having someone else to take an interview on behalf of the actual candidate can also be avoided by interviewing the candidate through Skype or Facetime. When you say "There is a whole citizen and resident crowd that is not supportive of this rule", you cannot speak for the whole group while you raise your voice against this rule all by yourself. For any job, an American worker is the first preference followed by Green Card holders. So people who cannot find a job will blame it on these kind of rules no matter what.REPORT COMMENTS

H1B Visa holders are called for their merit and not just because they are hired at lower costs. No company will forgo millions of $, by hiring below par candidates. Similarly any amount of fake resumes will not land an H4 visa holder a job because even if they do, they will find out in the course of the employment, which is a solid ground for termination. There is more than it meets the eye. I have 10 years of experience in Management and Sales, and worked in MNCs - if I land a job here it will be purely on merit. No company will make a mistake of hiring someone on stupid grounds. Let's look at objectively. USA should be like Singapore by keeping a % of employment to locals and a certain % for merit or skill based immigration. I do not think top American candidates with relevant qualifications will be denied employment just because there is an H1B holder waiting. Also it isn't fair where an H1B visa is granted for good work, and their spouses leave their work back in the home country and not find anything here. Maybe authorities should see if the spouses were working before and if their experience be of use here. Spouses can also be considered for contract work wherein they pay taxes. It would be a disaster to drop the H4 EADs, but I do agree with more stringent rules for hiring and that only women spouses be allowed to work on EADs and it would be helpful for them not to be too dependent and stay in an insecure situation and possibly stay tolerating abuse at home because of teh insecurities. But the hiring should be based on merit and in only STEM fields with STEM degrees in order of preference of giving Americans first preference and then other STEM degress. A lot of Americans have misunderstood H4 Ead. To all of you who say people on H 4 EAD take American jobs away, please get facts right. When a person applies for H1 B, there is a clause (and $1500 fee) paid to protect American worker that says that any employer who is giving job to an immigrant must first prove that he could not find an eligible qualified American for the same position. And employers do take a month or so to prove it during the process. Regarding dependent spouses on H4 visa, many of them are women who have held H1 B jobs, have a masters degree and good work experience that is hard to beat. If they work in USA, they are adding to the skilled pool rather than stealing jobs. Inhave held F1 visa, H1 B visa and H4 visa (with and without EAD). All my american friends who have a similar qualification as myself (a masters degree and many years of work experience in technology/consulting sector) are employed full time at major american firms. None of them are jobless because of me working here. Even in recession of 2008-09, most Americans of similar qualifications as myself (or many others like me) HELD stable jobs and survived recession. It is not a question of immigrants stealing jobs, it is a question about how many Americans really can afford quality education to get a job. That being said, if Americans really have so much antagonist attitude towards non immigrant aliens, then yes, we should all not be here. Don't give visas and green cards in the first place if Americans do not want to see brown skinned people anymore. H4 EAD is in place to help spouses of those H1 B holders who are qualified for jobs but weren't able to do it because of tighter visa rules. If people are abusing it, energy and effort should be put to punish the culprits rather than eradicating a whole visa clause.REPORT COMMENTS
